What a great choice that turned out to be.

You are seeing Mississippi's one and only lighthouse with the Gulf of Mexico behind. Mississippians are proud that it withstood Katrina, since here at Biloxi the lighthouse is very close to where the storm came ashore.
Here's the lighthouse from the opposite side with Vee's RV behind.
This pier suffered damage from the storm but was left standing.
This statue didn't have a placque or sign telling me who it was, and I can see that there has been some recent work done to shore it up. So whoever he is, some ullustrious Southern war hero I suppose, he sat through a long hard day when Katrina came ashore and suffered a little for it.

These dolphins were frolicking in the grass at Biloxi, cute fellows.

There is though beautiful beach that I hope will be maintained as beach and not built into casinos or condos. Many miles of it here, unlike Alabama.

Traffic was quite heavy when we rejoined the interstate north of New Orleans so I was glad that I was driving through mid-morning on Sunday. Between Baton Rouge and Lafayette we drove an 18 mile long bridge that crossed over Louisiana swampland. It was really quite fascinating, miles of black cypress trees in the gray water, and would have made a great picture, but unfortunately I couldn't pull over on the bridge.
Chorros finally said, "Enough, find a campground NOW." We drove over some rough road today and I think the noise of the highway under the tires is what makes him uneasy. So we finally arrived at Sam Houston Jones State Park and settled in just in time to find one last sunset picture for you.

(ps, I have computer access again this week, so I am busy getting caught up!)
Where are you off to next?
The last picture was awesome...I can see a 'coffee table book' of Vee's travels done entirely in sunsets & sunrises!
