In the Desert

Today we travelled the rest of the way across Arizona. Imagine my delight to find that as we moved farther into the desert, the scenery got greener! See how much green we saw today.

This southwest corner of Arizona is very pretty.

One of my goals when I left Montana last fall was to find spring, as soon as possible. Finally, it's spring here where I am.

Here is Chorro, not knowing what to make of green and colorful growing things.
We are camped tonight at Quartzsite, Arizona. Quartzsite is an RV city. It seems everything here is temporary, although there has been a settlement here since the mid 1860's. Tourism is the mainstay of the town now and there are major gem and mineral shows and swap meets here that are attended by hundreds of thousands of people. It's a popular winter spot for RVers with about 90 RV parks here as well as the opportunity to camp on public land. Here's the view from the door of my RV. That would be the long range view, at dusk.
Here's the short range. No roads, houses, people or traffic. Just space for the little wild one to run free, a rare thing for him.
Sunset over Quartzsite.
And the best part of MY day -- there are lots of wildflowers out here so I picked a little bouquet. Now, if I see wildflowers every day for the next six months, I will be one happy vagabond.
Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh what a pretty bouquet of spring flowers! How did you find such a secluded 'camping spot' that I'm sure delighted both you and Chorro!
Can't wait to hear what you think about sunny California!
The sunset pictures were awesome, as usual. :-)
