As I walked out in the streets of Laredo. . .

I spied a mall. With a Starbucks.

I think it's a year since I've intentionally been inside a mall, so why not. I was interested to see that malls now have international food courts. You can have your junk food American,

Mexican,

Italian,

Chinese,

Japanese,

or Pacific Northwest!

Just for fun, I walked the entire length, up one side and down the other. Not only was it a good walk, but I was very curious to see what was being displayed in shop windows these days. Lots of yellow, so I think shopkeepers are thinking spring too. Or encouraging us to think spring.

Would you believe I got lost coming back to the campground? I think that is my first real "lost" since I left Montana, but it wasn't a very major lost. I had my GPS with me at the mall so I simply entered the address of Lake Casa Blanca State Park to return home -- oh, you think that's how I got back? No, that's how I got lost. It took me someplace strange and interesting, open fields, but no campground. It even had the audacity to say proudly, "You have arrived."

I went back out to the highway and followed the highway signs to find the campground again. :-)

The rest of the day was spent on late afternoon phone calls, email, and a delicious dinner of salmon, rutabaga, acorn squash, and Swiss chard, all of my favorites! I'm sorry I didn't take a picture because it was as colorful as it was tasty. Then Chorro and I went out in search of wildlife and sunsets.

He thought this was the perfect wildlife to view (or pursue).

Fortunately I was holding tightly to the leash. We walked to a different area of the campground to get another perspective on the sunset. The universe must like variety, because people, snowflakes and sunsets are each unique. Here's tonight's sunset and a view of the other side of the lake in the fading light.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh, I'm sorry you got lost! How frustrating, but isn't it nice to know that you know more than the GPS?
A different kind of day for you touring the mall instead of bogs and lagoons (or maybe not so different) but I trust you had your latte in hand on your mall trek :-)
