Sittin' on the dock of the bay

We had a most leisurely day on Cypress Lake today. We have a great spot!

Every campsite has its own little dock out onto the lake. It seems most of the other campers here are fisherpeople and have boats and/or fishing poles. We have neither, but that didn't prevent me from sitting on the dock in my lawn chair reading a book in the sunshine, waves lapping gently against the shore. Yes!

I had to smile at the boys with their toys in the campground this morning. This guy had a lot of fun picking up unused campfire wood from campsites and dumping it into a big trailer. He came in a truck with the campground name on it so I can only assume he was getting paid. I wonder if they resell unused firewood?

I'm getting just slightly better with my camera and actually caught a couple of birds today. The first one is, I think, a hawk, although it looked a little bigger than a hawk but too dark to be an eagle. I hoping Mr. G. will look at my photos and give the definitive word here.

The second one is a blue heron, who did a lovely little cross legged pose for me. Isn't that sweet?

We took two long walks today, one in each direction. It's very quiet and peaceful, the crickets are singing here tonight. No loons, but lots of ducks on the lake around sundown.
As I was sittin' on the dock of the bay, watching the sun go down I did get a couple of good pictures tonight, early enough to get more color in the shots.

Maybe we'll be travelling tomorrow. I'll see how well it goes in trying to upload pictures here tonight. If I can't do it, I will find a new spot and load them later. My aircard is not highly efficient here, to say the least.
But then,
Tomorrow is a new day!

Beautiful! I love that you have your own dock. I would have relaxed on it all day too. I am really enjoying your travels

(ps...you know who that blue heron is right?)

Okay, it took me awhile to find how to post a comment, but I'm here now and just want to say how much I appreciate the photos and the narrative. Glad to see you are finding such beautiful places. By the way, Chorro looks extremely handsome with his new "do" and CeCe is showing some interest in getting together with her cousin ...

I also had a little trouble figuring out how to post this, but maybe I have figured that one out, too. Cheryl
