Our Day Off

Chorro and I voted and decided today would be kick-back and relax day. We would try to out-do each other in accomplishing nothing. We did well.

I didn't even take many pictures. Here's the sun reaching our campsite in the morning.
And beautiful Lake Claiborne.
Through the trees.
Here, we actually saw two white tail deer but they were literally "high tailing it" into the woods and I was WAY too slow with my camera. So all I can show you is that they were in the right place, according to the sign.
And dusk falling on our little motorhome.

I have to confess that I missed the best picture of the day. Coming back from our walk, a man working at the picnic table at his campsite to get his little color tv set up -- with huge wings of aluminum foil hanging off the rabbit ears -- but he had a pretty good picture of what I guess was a Very Important Football Game.
Chorro and I settled for a lawn chair and a book at our campsite for me, and soft pine needles to sleep on for him.
And tomorrow is a new day!

Ok, trying a non-google account comment....

It is a lot of fun watching your adventures and seeing you get closer and closer to our humble abode.

Its been chilly, but is supposed to warm up... but with the warmth comes the rain. Hopefully you are water tight now.

Jim, Lane, Oliver, Macky, Xixi, Spike, Lucy, Shebie the cat, looking forward to Gramma's visit.

Vagabond Vee: Don't forget to try some of those looweezeeana crawdads when you venture closer to civilization or pass a roadside vendor, or just fish some out of the swamp, I mean bayou!!! Note: I think you only eat the tails, not the heads. And you are definitely in 'catfish' land now (and probably all kinds of swamp creatures I've never even hear of). And I will say again, I have NEVER tasted a better sweet potato than the one's our Mississippe RV buddies brought from home! Happy eating!!

I think you should come to California and open up a restaurant. Those meals you are preparing and really looking good!

What lovely pictures and commentary. Your surroundings look so peaceful and your food so creative. I look forward to following your adventures.

If you make it to central Illinois, let me know!
