Hiking the Hills
Chorro and I had a short but important discussion first thing this morning. He said, "Okay, today we have to do something that *I* think is fun too. That means no clubhouses, no shopping, no museums, no riding in the RV. We go outdoors and RUN."Well if you know me, you know that running isn't my thing anymore, but I figured there was a compromise that could be made in there somewhere. We negotiated a bit and decided I could walk, he could run. There are some hills behind Saguaro Park. But before I could head for the hills, I had to have breakfast, that most important meal of the day. And then it seemed I had a yearning for a really good cup of coffee to top off my breakfast. Thanks to my family, I have all the accoutrements! Mmm, delicious.
Here's the trail we started up.
Here's the happy dog.
Morning light is good for pictures too, so I took a few of the mountains from our higher vantage point.

This isn't a real saguaro cactus, but a constructed one strung with lights. I haven't seen it lit up at night, but I suppose it's purpose is to identify the SKP's Saguaro Park.
We didn't see a real saguaro today, but we saw many other cacti.

Here's Chorro making friends with one.
Since this trail is above the RV Park, I'm gonna guess there is a retired architect down there somewhere who likes to hike.
Here's the bird's eye view of a huge RV Park.
Yes, I am longing for a beautiful state park again. That will come soon enough. A couple more days of travel and I will be in Quartzsite, where I may be able to get some good desert shots, maybe some sunsets, but you will see the biggest gathering of RV's of them all. (So they tell me.)I didn't get any good sunset shots today, but hey, I ended the day with this instead, so I'm not complaining! (Decaf, of course.)
Chorro agrees. Today was a good day.

JSD/Verla, I love the blog! I think we need a RR comic strip of superheroes -- you and Chorro could be the Venturesome Vagabonds. How do you two look in capes?? Happy traveling, Cinzia
Cinzia,
I'm so happy you stopped by!
We'll be working on those capes. Chorro is already into bandannas but needs a new one. Maybe it's time to move up to a cape, lol.
