We are on the road again this morning, heading west across Arizona. For a while, we drove through some sharp, sculptured peaks and saw mountains like this one. Then the mountains receded and we were out in the desert. Here are the real saguaros! Many, many of them. Also though, we saw a brief area of irrigated land. Green! Spring? Is this a field of winter wheat? Our trip today was short and uneventful. We arrive in Gila Bend in time for me to stretch out and nap for a while. Then the evening skies called us back outside for a while so Chorro could run while I snapped a few pictures. We have seen many, many border patrol vehicles in Arizona and were stopped at a checkpoint this morning. But I guess we still don't have enough border patrol vehicles out there, because here where we are camped there is another semi load of them. Here is the reflection of the sunset in the eastern sky. And, the sunset of the day. Today was a good day.
Wow the pale purple sky and the cactus was inspirational! The desert looks so remote, but the pics of the border patrol tell another story. Are you settled into Quartzsite yet? I know you have limited computer access, but hope we get to see photos soon!
