Family Day in Mississippi

Rain is forecast for this evening, and since I had a leak in my roof around the tv connections when it rained really hard last week, I needed to climb up on my roof and try to seal it up.

After a couple of trips up and down the ladder, I finally got a sealant that was going to work. Good job to have done.

Then it was off with my son and granddaughter to find two new Christmas trees (I guess we don't have enough, only five). That wasn't successful, but strangely enough, the trip took us by Starbucks, so, of course, it was break time by then anyway.

Kroger's grocery store was our next stop and I was totally thrilled to find that they have a 'natural foods' section that includes almost everything that I usually have to go to a health food store to find. Ezekiel bread and cereal, my favorite unsweetened chocolate soy milk, Annie's salad dressing, sugar free catsup and mayo!

When we finished grocery shopping and came outdoors, around 1 pm., I noticed my reaction was, "Wow, it's hot out here!" Eighty-four humid degrees. I loved it.

We built some more Christmas trees, then my granddaughter and I played with the basketball for a while (she is good, I play at third-grade level).

She worked on her homework after that, a report on Saskatchewan, chosen because her grandmother was born there. We did notice that Grandma's information (based on memories that are now 50 years old) didn't always agree with what we read on the internet. I'll leave it to you to figure which was correct.

After dinner, the three "girls" -- my granddaughter, my daughter-in-law and I -- watched a Hallmark movie on tv.

What a great day I had with my family!
