Craggy Wash and London Bridge

We found a great camping spot in the hills above Lake Havasu City. It is sooo quiet here. We've escaped into a little canyon called Craggy Wash and the road climbs sharply but there are lots of level spots where a little RV like ours can settle happily.
Here's the dawn breaking, all soft and golden. It is exciting now to see the sunshine increasing each day and the earth responding with touches of green.
One of the first things that has to happen when we get to a new spot is a Chorro Check. He is always very eager to get out and see what's around. You never know what might be hidden among the rocks! So far, he has not found anything. I don't think either of us knows what he would do if he did, but I hope I have my camera if it happens!
We hiked up the road and it was quite a climb, but the views of the rocks were great.
We are just a few miles from Lake Havasu City so we took advantage of that and made a day trip into town to check out London Bridge. Lake Havasu City is actually very young, having been established in the early 1960's as a resort destination after the Parker Dam created Lake Havasu. The city's founder, a man named McCullough, purchased the Londong Bridge in the late 1960's when it was being replaced and had it disassembled, shipped over, and rebuilt here, a project which took three years.
Appropriately, the Union Jack flies down at the end along with Old Glory and the Arizona State flags.
When we visited it, it was fun to think of it making a connection across the ocean from England, where Chorro and I have some good Radiant Recovery buddies.
Back in the hills, we spent our evenings watching the late afternoon shadows magically highlight the hills,
and of course the sunsets.
Each day brings a different sunset, the light, the clouds, the angle of view. I don't believe I will ever tire of sunsets.
Each one is its own miracle and I am blessed to have the opportunity to see them, day after day, along with my little Wandering Wonder dog Chorro.
Today was a good day.

The last sunset picture was stunning!!! Was it truly that color?

I was impressed with the size of the London Bridge, as well Mr. McCullough's commitment to purchase and then re-build it in Arizone--although he sounds like someone with way too much time and money on their hands....

Your sunset photos look like you're at my house! I haven't been to the London Bridge, yet. I think we need to plan a trip ourselves. Maybe on the way to Ranch we can stop and take a look.
