Chorro's Campground

Now this was just too good to pass up. A campground named for Chorro. Or was Chorro named for the campground?

We happily turned in here to see what Chorro's Campground had to offer. We didn't find any restaurants, didn't see any botanical gardens, did spot the golf greens, and found lots of green to camp on as well.

These would be California's Coastal Mountains surrounding us, and we gained a little altitude coming up to the campground. Hmmm, feels a lot like Montana!

We found hiking trails through the woods and tiny little creeks to get wet feet in (well, one of us wet our feet in the creek, the other just stepped over it).

We saw some trees in bloom and others that haven't even thought about waking up yet.

There is a college nearby and apparently there is a symbol of their mascot on this hillside.

Here's a closer up. I can't say what it is, but somebody climbs a long way to maintain it. Bet that's a freshmen job.

The green grass is so inviting and has been with us since Los Angeles. There are foothills and mountains around us so we didn't have a very good view of the sunset, but it put some lovely purple into the evening sky here at Camp Chorro.

Chorro was very happy with our time spent at his namesake camp. We spent lots of time roaming outside today and that makes him a happy and tired puppy. Me too.

Tomorrow is a new day.
